Strategy and Execution Business PhotoEvery company aims to formulate good strategy and execute that strategy well. But this time it was found that both good strategy, bad execution or a bad strategy and good execution. Why and how to avoid this?

Let’s start with what is strategy? In simple words, a plan to achieve the desired goal or outcome. If any organization has well defined objectives, strategies and can develop to achieve them, should be half the battle won. But it turns out that the execution failed. Why is it so? This can be a mistake, a strategy team, or specific factors that are unknown or are not aware suddenly crept in to perform during the implementation of the plan.

What should be done? Ideally the team should consider strategies that form factors as those to be executed, whether the entity has the ability to carry out what, if any changes occur, or unanticipated events as they run, what the risks are, and so on. There is no strategy that can be made without taking into account the ability of people to run. One can make a great marketing plan, but if the field staff do not understand marketing and start the game, it will not succeed and then blame game started.

Can the company created a team, not only the strategy but is also responsible for the settlement? This prevents many hiccups on the road. The problem is that know-how. I am a good strategist and not a good converter. You are a bad strategy, but the execution on the ground. What if the argument is presented by a team of education? All rights such as the creation and maintenance team to implement the strategy in the loop on the process of creating a strategy? This creates a number of problems. The view from both teams can so different that no positive results will happen.

I have discussed briefly about the above factors. In real life come more complications, and especially in large organizations to increase the complexity. The only solution to top management is to set goals and talk with everyone. After all of us in the trust, the establishment of a policy and allow all to participate in the formation of strategies. Decide what can be achieved effectively and why it might be achieved. Let the team that is committed to achieve, what will actually achieved and to reward their promises if they achieved at the other side and managed. The synergy between the creator and enforcer of the strategy will ultimately determine the final outcome.

Starting a Small Business PhotoThere are many people out there thinking about starting a small business and tons of great ideas, but few people actually go and do it. So many people think, and think about it, until suddenly they were fifty something, which is still a good idea but no business.

There is no doubt it takes a special kind of person to be an entrepreneur. This is definitely not for the faint of heart. It needs the will to succeed, courage, perseverance and will power to not continue in the face of setbacks work you would want to be confronted. But what is needed to become a successful small business?

Of course, the necessary technical skills. This was granted. And you can not just good at what you do. You must be very well before you think about starting your small business. So, assuming you have the technical skills that have successful entrepreneurs do together?

I would think that determine self-discipline and self-starters, some of the properties above. If you own a business, so you can stay in bed in the morning or not, you think you can work forty hours a week want to, you could stick with your 9-5 job. In fact, you will be working far more than forty hours per week for a while, and usually with very little money to show it.

There is no one to tell you what to do, how it works and if necessary (except for your customers, of course, and it seems to me they often want something now!). So, you should be able to make decisions, and work enough each day, no matter how careful you may be disciplined.

And, the fact that you are your own boss, you have to be set up as well. This also means, you should be able to set priorities and plan well, meet deadlines and work in the position until the job is finished, whether that will take fifteen minutes or eighteen hours a day.

How well do you know deal with stress? How to deal with uncertainty? Successful entrepreneurs have both very much. A business is stressful at best, and can be very stressful if things do not go well. And the things that certain rare. The fact that the large customers that you think you have a very loyal only to decide to go elsewhere for no apparent reason to you.

Are you able to make short term sacrifices for long-term profit? Maybe it’s really tempting to get, for example, to retrieve the first of thousands of dollars of your business and spend it on clothes or in your house or your car, but is that necessarily the best for your small business? Or did you leave the money in the company and used it to build your business?

Together with the technical skills we have discussed, the bulk of employers in all trades, Jack, at least from the beginning. Suppose you build the best darn widgets in this country. Suppose you have rented a room and have all your equipment, is the first to want to do, could the suppliers for the parts you need to find to install it. Then you have to negotiate with them, so now you are a buyer or producer.

Customers will not come and find you, you have to find a way to let people know who you are, where you are and what you can do to them. In other words, you must also know something about marketing. You are required to keep proper records, you are good to hold. And you will be responsible financial decisions for all your small business, so you need to know something about finances. You must answer the phones and an appointment that you mean well, secretary.

Since you probably do not all the skills and you probably can not afford to do someone to rent the most jobs, you must be willing to learn new things and can pick it up quickly. You do not see the money directly to good jobs. Are you prepared to put in the hours necessary to learn these skills and perform without seeing immediate results?

Finally, the delay and a business did not seem to work well together. If you are the type that are off until tomorrow what can be done to tilt today, you can not suited to your own business.

No one would to be the perfect entrepreneur. I doubt there is someone who has all the personality traits we are discussing. But you must be willing to take an honest look at themselves. You must have certain features that I mentioned, and you need to know how in the areas where you can compensate for weak, but that’s a topic for another day.

Robert Browning said, “is a very important element to get out of your ass and do something as simple as that .. Many people have ideas, but there are some people who decided to do something about it now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. But now. The true entrepreneur is the actor, not a dreamer. ”

I think he’s probably right, so what are you waiting for? The first step is the decision-making. Stop just thinking about it, and do it easily. Do not wait for tomorrow or next week or next year. If that day.
